'I have a Dream' ~ Rashmi Bansal~ Book Review ~ Someone is Special

The most beautiful feeling in this world is to dream about your life. I am no exception to deny it as I too had a lot and one of them is receiving a priceless book delivered in perfect condition at my doorsteps. When it is author signed book, ‘What can I say?’, as usual, I was flying to the roof after receiving the book, ‘I have a Dream ~ Rashmi Bansal’ from BlogAdda. I owe and thank BlogAdda for this sweet surprise.

Can someone say ‘I never dream?’ I hope no one will say that because day to-day software life the only sweet thing that could happen is a dream.

The title ‘I have a Dream’ invited me more to read the book at a stretch from dusk until dawn. I have to say it is an awe-inspiring read for any entrepreneur. The cover of the book with cloud pattern makes it so close to dreams.

"I have a dream... That one day all of God's children will be able to join hands and sing... Free at last! Free at last! Thank God Almighty, we are free at last!" The author has started the book with such inspiring words from Martin Luther King Jr speech on 28th August 1963.

A tree is known by its fruit” and so the author’s note as it defines the book, best as “These are people like you and me, not Mother Teresa. They are using the principles of business, to create a better world” A world where profit does not equal greed where people come together for a greater common cause. A world where “I” does not mean crushing “them” Hats off Rashmi…

Well the book is about one common dream of 20 ordinary persons who change the trend, a new path of social service to help to change the world.

The book is of three types of people, “RAINMAKERS”, “CHANGEMAKERS”, and “THE SPIRITUAL CAPITALIST”. 'CASTE AWAY', ‘THE SOUND OF SILENCE’, ‘THE HUNGRY TIDE’, ‘TEACH A MAN TO FISH’, ‘THE NAKED TRUTH’, ‘THE GIRL IN THE MIRROR’, ‘SOUL FOOD’ and ‘LEAD KINDLY, LIGHT' are awe-inspiring stories. With references, and section titled ‘ADVICE TO YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS’, the author has reflected upon individual characters wonderfully.

The book is a mixture of people who dream big, live in it, and innovate to achieve it. It runs across various social issues, and finally achieving it. One of the best collections of social enterprises where the motive is to do good and not charity. ‘CASTE AWAY’, it was conceptualized to realize Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a “Clean India”.

‘What do you do when a courier man comes to your doorstep? Just sign to collect your parcel and that’s what initiated the idea for Dhruv Lakra, a young man to start “Mirakle Couriers” An incident in a bus journey made Dhruv realize deaf people can be employed too. And the best point was a courier company where the customer need not communicate verbally. “Just sign to collect your parcel”. Wow… ‘SOUL FOOD’, with stories of Akshaya Patra, where they serve meals to many schools, is the one of the best.

The author’s effort to make the book simple, thoughtful and innovative is commendable. With inspiring examples of brilliant writing, this book is a perfect read for any youth entrepreneur. I am sure the book fulfils the aim of aspiring entrepreneurs.

‘The more you give, the more you will get back.’ Now, it is your turn to buy one for you to get more from this awe-inspiring book.
